Has thought been given to an 'Electric guitar building section' in the forum. Among the obvious advantages, it will be easier to find the questions re electrics. |

Honestly? I think it'd be a waste of space, and of relatively minimal added value. The vast majority of the guys here who build electrics (including myself) can also be found at locales where more electric builders 'meet and greet'; there aren't that many electric builders who build acoustics, although the reverse isn't quite as much the case. We've already got the MIMF.com and ProjectGuitar.com's forums, the former being the best place for complex questions related to building and consistently good ideas, and tons of info in the library, the latter being more laid back, with a much higher percentage of newbies as well as slightly more - despite the best efforts of the mods, and the many highly knowledgable folks there - stupid ideas/bad advice. Also a much younger crowd, far less regulated atmosphere. Which teaches you things in its own way. |

Bob, I dont think its out of the question, but right now were tapped for time trying to stay up with the forums that are currentlyu running. It is a good idea and one that we'll keep warm on the back burner! ![]() Thanks! |

Well since I do so much repair work with electrics I might post more often, which means more bad jokes and puns. So for the safety of everyones sanity lets keep it to acoustics ![]() Actually it would be cool but I love the specific focus of this forum and the people. Its never too loud in here. Best, Evan |

I think that that would be a good idea. Did you know that if your refretting a 1985 and older fender you need to pound the frets out sideways and not pull them because they slid them in creating a lip that will shred your fingerboard if you pullem. I learned that yesterday. What a disapointed constomer you could have..... |
